BASKETBALL PROGRAM

PROGRAM OVERVIEW

The Holyoke Safe Neighborhood Initiative Basketball Program began in 2012 as a way to create additional positive activities for youth in Holyoke.  We found that many of the youth didn’t have the means to play in leagues, so we wanted to provide 100% of the youth in Holyoke with an opportunity to play in an organized basketball league.

COST

There is no cost to participate in any of our programs. We purposefully eliminate any barriers that someone may have to participate such as the financial cost, equipment, or transportation, so that every youth is provided with an opportunity to participate.

LOCATION

3rd - 6th grade leagues at the YMCA, 171 Pine Street in Holyoke

7th & 8th grade leagues are held at Kelly School, 216 West Street

9th -12th grade leagues are held at the Boys and Girls Club

SCHEDULE

We run our leagues from May through July and November through February.

Due to COVID-19 related precautions, our programs are on hold. Once activities can be safely resumed, we will update this section with our latest schedule. Please register to stay informed.

PROGRAM REGISTRATION

To sign-up for one of our leagues, please register.  This is an initial sign-up and you will receive an email with additional information about the official evaluation night.  Every player who signs up and attends the evaluation nights will be placed on a team, everyone plays. During evaluation nights, youth play 3 on 3 so that we can ensure that the players on each team  are both fair and competitive.
